Dr. William “Scott” Poling (D.D.S)
Dr. William “Scott” Poling presently lives in Mt. Lebanon with his wife Stephanie and his son Franco (named after the great Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back, Franco Harris, of course!) He enjoys Steelers, Pirates and Penguins games, outdoor activities, and music. He also enjoys musical theater.
After serving in the Navy as a hospital corpsman and deploying with the fleet marine forces’ second medical battalion serving in Operation Desert Storm, he completed his BA degree in biology at West Virginia University. He completed his MS degree in Anatomy at the West Virginia University School of Medicine and then received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2006.
Immediately upon graduation, Dr. Poling moved to North Carolina and provided care for underserved children. He then opened his own private practice in Burnsville, near Asheville, North Carolina. For two years he provided care to the underserved as a National Health Service Corp clinician. In 2013 he received his training for placement of dental implants through the Triangle Dental Institute in Durham, North Carolina, and received his fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologist.
From 2006 through 2011 he attended the Dawson Academy, where he trained in cosmetic dentistry, complex restorative dentistry, and occlusal disease with emphasized philosophy of occlusal harmony and TMJ health. He received IV sedation training at Duquesne University and has attended seminars and a Study Club through Frank Spear education. He considers himself to be a lifelong student in the pursuit of excellence. He has been an Invisalign provider since 2014, and involved in Dental Sleep medicine since 2014.
